Mark Wee (b.1975) is a Singaporean artist, design thinker, and architect. Harbouring an imaginary universe of good vibes, strange creatures, and odd situations in his mind since young, Mark has drawn his imaginations on countless notebooks, which have led over the years to artwork commissions for The Singapore Dance Theatre, the Housing Development Board, Frank by OCBC, New Majestic Hotel, Tasty Plaza, as well as private commissions. After years of nudging from friends and family to 'share my artwork with more people', Mark is finally making steps to being more intentional about sharing his imaginary universe, hence, this website.

In his professional life, Mark is a pioneer in the use of design thinking in the shaping of innovative human centred experiences across products, services, and environments, as well as being an award-winning architect. He has had the honour to represent Singapore at the 11th Venice Architectural Biennale under UNION Experience, where he was a founding partner. As well as started and led the Experience Design studio at ONG&ONG from 2011-2016, the group's strategic design and innovation practice. He is currently the founder and principal of ANNEX A /, design and innovation consultancy that takes a design thinking approach to crafting human centred experiences integrating products, services, and environments, and ANNEX AARCHITECTS, an architectural design and place making practice. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS)'s Institute of System Science (ISS), teaching digital service design & innovation.

"I did the Our Home Series when I was working with the HDB on a project to design their sales experience at Toa Payoh. The project got me thinking about what home truly meant to me. As Singapore is changing so rapidly, shaping itself into a global cosmopolitan city, hosting every new fad, international brand, and people from all over, I wonder what of the current experiences that make up my Singapore life will remain when my daughter grows up, and how much of it will be but a memory of the past. Hence, I wanted to capture some of the beautiful experiences that make up living in the heartlands for her, as many of them such as the provision shop, old hawkers, teh tarik man, and original HDB playgrounds may not be around for her to enjoy in the future. And perhaps these pieces could serve as a postcard of the past to her. "
